Køge Museum offers an experience of history for the whole family.
After several years of restoration and planning, on 20 June 2015 we opened the doors on a totally new Køge Museum. We are not a regional museum in the usual sense of the word. We have developed an entirely new Museum Management model for the museum, which guarantees a service, in which we pool a portion of the profits for total replacements of the exhibitions. That means the museum will be constantly relevant, allowing us to keep abreast of development: not only in terms of society, but also in terms of technological development and the opportunities for innovative forms of communication it gives rise to.
Køge Museum is part of the Museum of Southeast Denmark, which is the state-recognised museum for Næstved, Vordingborg and Køge Municipalities. This enables us to draw on a large network of historians, archaeologists and developers, investing our exhibitions with historic substance and contemporary flair.
